Films
In this section you will find animated films made with the stop motion technique, accompanied by original soundtrack and dubbed in at least one language: Spanish, Galician, English, neutral Spanish, and/or subtitled.
All of the films are based on the illustrated albums in the OQO collections, allowing you to compare the stories told in the books with their film adaptations.
The films are grouped into three distinct series:
Never Ending Tales
Never Ending Tales is a series of 32 episodes of 10 minutes each, where each chapter corresponds to the adaptation of an illustrated album by OQO Editora. Aimed at children from 4 to 9 years old, the series has the collaboration of renowned international animators, offering an original proposal that explores tales from all over the world through different plastic and musical manifestations. Each story has an original soundtrack composed especially for it.
Six short films in this series have been awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Brasil Stop Motion Festival 2011, standing out for their beauty and artistic quality.
Snails
Caracoles (Snails) is an animated series based on the literary series for pre-readers “Caracoles”, published by OQO Editora. It consists of 39 chapters of 6 minutes each, where the world of children’s relationships is explored through the perspective of some little garden animals. The series shows their lives, relationships, games, conflicts and adventures, represented by characters with precise psychology that embody different types.
Although its main objective is to entertain, it also has a didactic component that promotes ethical and citizenship values in a subtle way to children.
Cocorico
Cocorico is an animated series co-produced by OQO Editora and Televisión de Galicia (TVG), based on the illustrated album of the same name written by Marisa Núñez and illustrated by Helga Bansch. The series follows the adventures of Cocorico, a curious and unruly chick who is discovering life and the world around him along with his friends.
It consists of 52 chapters of 13 minutes long, full of fun, action and life lessons. It is broadcasted on Televisión de Galicia and distributed internationally by PEEK-A-BOO Animation.
