Felix wasn’t like the other children: Felix was the most frightened boy in the world!
Felix wasn’t like the other children: Felix was the most frightened boy in the world!
One night he goes to the bathroom and gets so scared when he sees his reflection in the mirror that he falls into the chicken plucking pot. His grandmother, while cleaning him up, gives him an idea: to collect fears. Then Felix begins to keep in a trunk all the things that frighten him and, in this way, he manages to make the fears become smaller and the laughter bigger. The author, Fina Casalderrey, invites us to express ourselves and laugh at ourselves, making the most of everything that scares us or limits us; playing with fear, accepting it and de-dramatizing it. The illustrator, Teresa Lima, shows her complicity in elegant and warm images that bring us closer to the fantastic world of childhood where so many imaginary beings live.
Distinction from the Jury of the Portuguese National Illustration Award.
